Moving your home with a clear plan
A home move is easier when the crew knows what to expect before arrival. Providence Moving provides residential moving help for houses, apartments and other homes in Toronto and across the GTA. We plan around the size of the move, stairs or elevators, parking access, the distance between addresses and any items that need special attention.
Our residential service can include loading, transportation and unloading. Furniture and floor protection are part of the moving approach described on the current Providence Moving site, and customers can follow live updates on moving day.
What residential moving includes
- Loading and unloading by the booked moving crew
- A truck package selected for the expected volume of the move
- Moving blankets and furniture protection
- Floor protection where needed for the move
- Live tracking and updates on moving day
- Placement of items in the rooms you identify at the destination
If you also need packing, unpacking, disassembly or assembly, describe that work when requesting your estimate so Providence Moving can confirm what is included and how much time to allow.
Residential moving prices
Current published options include:
- 16-foot truck with 2 movers: $135 per hour, 4-hour minimum. Current minimum example: $540 plus HST.
- 24-foot truck with 2 movers: $160 per hour, 5-hour minimum. The site currently shows an approximately 7-hour example: $1,120 plus HST.
- 26-foot truck with 3 movers: $215 per hour, 6-hour minimum. The site currently shows an approximately 8-hour example: $1,720 plus HST.
The right package depends on the amount being moved, access, travel and the work required. A smaller home does not always mean a shorter move if there are stairs, long carries, difficult parking or many items requiring protection.
Prices shown are starting rates or examples. Final pricing depends on truck size, crew size, move details, travel, applicable minimums, and HST. Your estimate will confirm the final rate.
Before moving day
Provide both addresses, your preferred date, the type of home at each location and an honest inventory. Mention stairs, elevators, loading restrictions, parking limitations and unusually large or fragile items. If a building requires an elevator booking or a certificate of insurance, raise that before confirming the date.
Packing early and labelling boxes by room can also make unloading more organized. If you want help preparing items, see our packing and unpacking service.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I request a residential move?
Request your preferred date as early as practical, especially for month-end, weekends or a move that depends on a booked elevator. Availability is only confirmed through Providence Moving's booking process.
Which truck size do I need?
Truck size depends on the volume and shape of your belongings, not only the number of bedrooms. Share an inventory or the information requested in the estimate form so the team can recommend a package.
Do you protect furniture and floors?
The current Providence Moving service states that furniture and floor protection are included. Identify delicate surfaces and items before work begins so the crew can plan their handling.
Can you help if I already have a rental truck?
Yes. Moving labour services are the better fit when you need loading, unloading or in-home help without a Providence Moving truck package.
How long will my move take?
Time depends on inventory, access, packing readiness, distance and unloading requirements. Published packages have minimum hours, but an estimate is not a guarantee of the exact final duration.
Is a deposit required?
The current website says no deposit is required. Confirm all booking, rescheduling and cancellation terms before your move.
